rooney the HEADMASTER

Watched ManU sweep aside Milan yesterday. Another headed goal for Rooney. But watching the match i felt it was more down to Milan being pathetic than ManU being outstanding. Dont get me wrong; ManU was the better team by a country mile, but one wonders if milan was a bit more enthsiastic to chase down Manu players and close the gaps quicker, then maybe...The real test is this weekend, when fulham visits Old trafford. Of late Fulham has got Manu's number. It would be intresting to see how the red devils deal with the tenacious Fulham team. Zamora, Duff and Danny murphy could be a handful. Last but not least, Fulham also has Mark Schawtzer in between the sticks. Fulham will be a tougher opponent than Milan.

Beginning of a decline?

Watched Manchester United labouriously overcome Wolves at the Molineux. If proof was ever needed that Rooney is the lynchpin, engine and the rock on which this team is built, we had 90+4 minutes to witness it first hand. Every single player, with exception of Valencia fluffed their lines. Thank God, the one goal scoring chance that came United's way fell to the veteran Scholes, who despite have a quite match had the presence of mind not to shoot at first chance but to control, weave past a defender and then shoot to right bottom corner. Otherwise it was frustrating watching them play. Just could not break down wolves, a team that has shipped in 25 goals this season. Wonder what will fergie do once scholes and giggsy plan to hang
up their boots. Maybe fergie will stay only until these blokes are around. Whoever follows fergie will need to dismantle the defence, midfield and attack to reinvigorate the team.
