Jadeja caught out.But did he do anything wrong?

Cricinfo is reporting that Ravindra jadeja, an India international and key player for rajasthan royals, is not eligble to play for IPL 2010. Reason: he tried negotiating for a new contratc with other franchises and they tried to bargain for better pay from his current owners. Is seeking better remuneration for ones efforts a mistake? the royals got him for small change. He is improved by leaps and bound from then. Its within his right to seek better pay when the going is good for him. Can the royals assure him that they will keep him if his form suffers a dip. This is so symptomatic of corporate india also. They make life hell for employees who try to jump ship for better prospects. Needlessly tie employees to avoidable contracts to ensure they are given a good grind. A month's notice is fair but anything more than that is playing spoilsport. Coming back to Jadeja, I hope he appeals this decision and the IPL's governing body lets him play.

Tiger, Terry, MINK..

As was expected keeping up with what goes on around me is not easy. So not surprisingly, I failed to update this blog. Not that anyone would complain as yours truly's efforts at blogging is yet to come to anyone's attention.
Tiger, Terry, India's #1 Test ranking, MINK have managed to hog the limelight in the first two months of this year. Well no one's sure if Terry did a Tiger or Tiger did a Terry. Both are rumored to have slipped in and out of 11 different sheets at the least, with Terry even managing to bed, impregnate and then pay to abort his one-time friend's ex-girlfriend. Anyways both look like they will get away with it. So much for the sanctity of that institution.
Does anyone care India is #1 in ICC's test ranking? Does the BCCI, players, or anyone realted to the game care about this? The only people who seem excited by this is media, who have gone to town singing paeans to Dhoni's captaincy and his men. 20/20, Champions trophy, meaningless series with srilanka and IPL have meant that the public has been feasting on an overdose of cricket. Sooner or later, they are going to lose interest. Me personally have lost interest in cricket. Hardly glance the sport page.
MINK: If figures mentioned in the media are anything to go by, then people of mumbai have called the sena's bluff. Their dikat was based on the threat of force. For once the law and order machinary stood up to the bullies and the result is for every one to see.The Shiv Sena, MNS, Muthalik and his sidekicks are all cut from the same cloth. They operate by psyching out the majority by threat of force. But when the full force of law is used against them, they chicken out and retreat and resort to issuing statements saying they have achieved their purpose. The people of india could use the MINK episode as a template to deal with such future threats. India belongs to all indians.
